It grows up to 18 m tall, its short trunk can grow up to 40 cm in diameter. Bark can be smooth or harsh and dark-brown. Its branches form circular crown. Leaves are spiral arranged on the branch and can reach up to 15 cm in length. The leaves are wide egg-shaped, simple or with two or three lobes, just like the leaves of white and black mulberries. The leaf petiole contains milky fluid. Likewise the black mulberry even red mulberry&#8217;s leaves has rough upper leaves side, and silky hairy lower side. The species is hardy to lower temperatures, drought, pollution and poor soil.
